The goal of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide a friendly, clean and wholesome atmosphere for our residents and visitors to come and participate, to enjoy their recreation time and hopefully to keep them coming back for years of enjoyment.

The parks in Fairview Heights were created for the use and enjoyment of our city residents and visitors, for company picnics, family and class reunions, birthday parties or any special event that our facilities can accommodate. Residents of Fairview Heights take naturally to the array of sports, recreation and activity programs offered year round by the Parks and Recreation Department. All programs utilize city parks and other facilities in the community to give a variety of activities to interest people of all ages. Many events are held throughout the year including an Easter Egg Hunt, ball tournaments, the City Homecoming, Fall Festival, Gas Rodeo, Salute to the Arts as well as an assortment of smaller events.
